It depends who they're shared by. If it's shared by people with no following, there's more interaction but no point to it as it won't get views.
A like is generally a symbol of someone enjoying your content, but it's also king to observe what happens as a like train comes in. As OnlyUltimate said, the share depend on who shares them and whether or not anyone linked to that person is going to interact with the post, but also looking at the way that likes come in, my most liked video has 95 likes and almost 17000 views, meaning 2000 likes would generate almost 360000 views. This because likes are the result of viewership and aren't just something that happens.
Shares are a lot harder to get than likes, so if 2000 shared the video then it's got to be something special. Although if the video somehow got 2000 shares and not 2000 likes there must be something pretty bad about it

2000 likes = 2000+ people viewed the video and liked it, likes don't do much anyway

Seeing the mixed reactions i would say share and toss a coin for the best. If the video is shared there is a slight chance of reaching a wider audience bringing more likes and interaction in the long run.
2000 shares. It's more likely that it'll reach other people, which hopefully generate likes as well.
