Ubisoft has responded to claims of "Deceptive Marketing" from the recently released Might and Magic Heroes VII Collectors Edition. The root of the problem is in the marketing of the PC game which was leading customers to believe Ubisoft was going to give them a physical copy in the $100 premium bundle. What actually was happening is people went to social media and posted pictures showing they had received a digital copy and not the physical copy as implied in the marketing. Ubisoft has recently said the collectors edition comes digitally not physically.
Ubisoft's statement on the matter was as follows.
"Ubisoft regrets any confusion created by the marketing materials from our Might and Magic Heroes VII Collector's Edition, We understand that some customers in North America were not aware the Collector's Edition delivered digital versions of the game and soundtrack. Ubisoft apologizes for any frustration and disappointment resulting from these items being in digital format vs. physical format."
