If you are a newer channel like myself. Than views and subs may be pretty low.
There are so many tips for a wide arrange of different content.
Here are some basic tips that a newbie with time can be decent at YouTube!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Using thumbnails:

Thumbnails can sometimes be hard and if you are one of the channels you want to be monetized,
You need different permissions.

For me personally, I take different decals, edit them and put them together with paint.net.
Try to be creative and don't make it look like the original.
If it looks like the original, think outside the box!

Also, if you are thinking about using false advertising ad's like girls showing there tops.
Or something entirely not related to your video,
Just don't ! You can be punished such as getting your video taken down or worse.
Don't be that person!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Tags:

Tags can be great but I would normally not use more than at any time 5 tags.
Too many tags an count as spam while common tags will get you nowhere.
Think of something that is "BOTH" related to what your content has to offer,
and what would be a great idea to get others looking at your channel!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Comment Section:

Comment section is a great place for subs and visitors to say what they feel about your content.
Replying to the comments can make viewers happy and come back for more!
Just don't be rude or vulgar and nothing negative.

If you see haters, just ignore it. You can ban them from your channel,
or even delete the comments.
But after awhile it becomes a hassle and almost pointless.
So just ignore it the best you can!

Also, don't let people kiss up to you. You will get the people who were the first subs there,
but try to treat everybody equally and fairly.
This will bring a better vibe to your channel with a friendly community!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Playlists:

Playlists are great to sort the types of videos,
For example, if you are a gamer channel, you might want to have an entire
play through under a playlist for easy access.

Another example would be a music channel like my own,
I will classify mine by album (Just because I like to be organized) and I name the songs.
For example: Album 1. Biting Chills 4.
It feels very neat and easy to read in my opinion.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Annotations:

Annotations are links and comments that you can add on the video.
Annotations are great for the outro, beyond the outro, or even tiny mistakes
you may have done, you could do something like.

lol
^

Which would point out to that tiny mistake you did.
Sometimes viewers will laugh because they might have never noticed it.
Don't do it on purpose though!

Annotation links are great to check out a video before that one, another play through or playlist on your channel, or even to one of your sub channels the viewers could check out!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, if you are one of those small channels who are in it just to make cash.
Well the thing is, it's really, really hard.
It's sort of based and guessed on every 1,000 views.
No payment is final or regular.
And you also need to program with a program. aka "Freedom!" or even something else that might interest you.

And even if you did started to make 50 cents or some tiny portion of cash, you will still need to work hard.
A channel Should be about the community, not about making cash which a lot of YouTuber's forget!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope this will help you out for starting your new channels!

Some good advice, but you're limiting yourself if using only 5 tags. Really limiting yourself.

10-20, in various combinations and lengths. It also helps to include misspellings of tags, as people often make typos when searching things. That's an opportunity to rank better than other more popular videos.
Wouldn't that count as spamming your tags?
