I personally wouldn't go with that particular SSD, because I've heard on numerous accounts that particular drive does not give the read/write speeds it advertises. I would go with the Samsung 850 EVO. Good company, and it gives its advertised read/write speeds

In the real world, we really won't notice the difference between a slightly slower drive compared to a top of the range SSD with the full 500mb read and write, Unless you're transferring data all the time then yeah, you might notice.

But as a budget SSD I recommend it, why? Cause i'm using one now as my boot drive for my 3770k build, and I think a 10second boot time (including mobo manufacture splash screen) is pretty quick, and a 15second reboot time is silly fast, Oh and i've been using it for a year now and seen no problems with it.

I'm also using one of those cheap Sandisk 120gb SSDs that are not the best perf in the world, in an old Q6600 (775) build that only supports SATA 2, so we're talking only 200mb? read/write speeds support by that old tech, and again i'm seeing boot up times of 10-15 seconds.

In terms of build quality and reliability, Samsung are the way to go, Samsung, Intel and Crucial are the 3 big names in the SSD industry, but commands a higher price tag, which is not ideal when you're working with such a low budget.

while that was true for certain v300 drives, kingston knew they messed up and stopped swapping out the memory controllers haha
