hi basically i am thinking of getting a new pc for recording game play videos and have no idea where to start in terms of what is needed

if anybody can help suggest what they use or if they know what i should be looking at it would be very helpful

i don't really have a budget but i would like something that will last quite a while and be able to handle most games at a decent fps rate while recording

thanks in advance

Well if you build your own it will be alot cheaper, but when picking the graphics card or pre-built I choose Nvidia as these cards have a program called ShadowPlay which records your gameplay with no lag (other card manufactures offer similar programs but I find SP better to use)

Really does depend how much your budget is tho. If you aim for a CPU no smaller then 3.0GHz, get 8g Ram (minimum) and at least a 2g graphics card you should be fine to start then upgrade as and when you have the money. Unless you have a laptop in which case you may not be able to upgrade!

There's my suggestion:

CPU:
- I'd suggest you to choose Intel's i5 4xxx or AMD's FX8xxx (there's no difference in perfomance at th. You can also take i7 if you have enough big budget.

Motherboard:
- Make sure that your motherboard supports your CPU and DDR3 or DDR4 RAM.

RAM:
- I'd suggest you to buy 8 GB kit (2 x 4 GB). Buy RAM compactible with motherboard.

Case:
- Choose case which you personaly like.

Power supply:
- DO NOT buy the cheapest one, beacuse it may produces LESS electricy than it is described. But before you'll even buy it, navigate to to this webiste: http://powersupplycalculator.net/ - there you'll calculate power usgae of your PC.

GPU:
- It depends on your budget. If you aren't going to spend $400 for GPU, I'd suggest you to buy GeForce GTX 750 Ti, or for $400 you can buy GeForce GTX 970 (it's worth additional $100 on 960's price). And DO NOT buy AMD's GPU, because they don't give a **** for software updates on theirs GPUs.

I have been looking in to getting a PC to game on so I can just use my mac to edit on.

Found this;

Price seems pretty reasonable and for £100 you can't really go to far wrong. There are more expensive ones with better graphics cards in them.
