Well there isn't guaranteed way to do this, though your tags are going to play a massive part in this. Be sure to use compound tags more than singular words as these typically rank higher. Also be sure to only include tags relavant to the video, as tempting as it may be to include tags just to rank your video higher this is against YouTube's terms of service and could see your channel being terminated - Not saying you do this, or are going to do this, I just thought I would include it as a disclaimer
To get on searches, use tags that are long. Tags that are too short most likely won't be searched and are very competitive. A useful tool to use is Tubebuddy, which rates a tag on search volume and competition.
For extra information, if you want to get on the suggested videos side bar, then short tags are the way. Do this only when you can't find tags that get you ranking in searches.
