Hey, what's up, hello! I am NeNe, creator of NeNe Talks Love. I am a Blogger, Vlogger, + a self proclaimed "Self-Love Specialist". I am here to teach people how to love by being vulnerable enough to bare all my flaws + imperfections, while God publicly puts me back together, in hopes to heal others along the way. February 6, 2016 marks the one year anniversary of my channel. I have always admired rappers + painters because they have a tangible way to express their pain + frustrations. Once they overcome whatever battle they were fighting, they can look back on that song or painting + reflect on how they felt at the moment. I see so much beauty in that. I have always wanted to have something like that, so I had to sit down + figure out what my talent was. Sure, I was great at fashion, I have a background in fashion styling + some design. But that was not enough for me. Styling did not convey the story I needed to tell. After careful thought, I realized my talent was wisdom. I am very wise + people always ask for my advice, especially on love issues. Boom! NeNe Talks was born. I was really excited about having a channel, so I was posting videos whenever, no real consistency, just whenever I felt like it. I was in a very broken place at the time. I was tired of struggling financially + being on the edge of eviction every month, so I said "Eff this! I am going back to home to NJ for a few months to stack some bread, + I will come back". Well, that turned into "Since I am here, I might-as-well live + work in NYC. It's closer to the family, I love NYC, fashion is here. Why not?" That did not last long. Before I could reach NYC, I had tons to do; get a job, save up then move out of my mom's place I grew up.I don't know about you, but being on your own for over 5 years, + the to have to come back to mom's?? That was such a bummer! I was broke + over being back at home, so the first chance I got, I came back to LA. I got to NJ January 4, 2015 + came back to LA on February 18, 2015. I only lasted six weeks in NJ. came back to LA with only had $75. I couch served for five months before landing a job + getting my apartment. I moved in August, 2015. I had taken a break from videos during that time. I realized I had to start again + this time I had to be intentional + consistent. B O O M! August 25, 2015, #NeNeTalksTuesday was born. Right after I was settled in + cozy, I was lead by God to quit my job in October to take NeNe Talks full-time. In December NeNe Talks Love was born. Even though I am not making money yet, I do not care. Of course, I am struggling financially, but what I do is very rewarding. The struggle comes with the dream, you cannot escape it. You might-as-well learn how to dance in the rain. That is what I am doing. I was lead by God, so He must have a plan. My job is to have faith + trust him, + I am doing just that!
