Such as a elgato but cheaper seen as i got rid of mine a while back and want it again but prices have gone up by like a 100$ :/

Xbox And Playstation Both have Built In DVR Features that let you record gameplay. If your recording xbox you can also connect it to a windows 10 computer via the xbox app and record up to 2 hours or something.
You can either record about 15 minutes on your xbox without computer or you can use your windows 10 computer if you have one and record up to 2 hours.
but if you want to record videos long term i suggest going for the legato its amazing the difference it can make as to video quality. but i used to use ezcap 1080 its about 80$ on amazon and isn't that bad but its difficult to sync audio (as you have to record it later)
Your quality will suffer if you get a cheap capture card. The built in recording feature is pretty good, so you should check that out. If your internet speed is good enough you could live stream to twitch in HD and export that to your YouTube channel.
