Price to performance the best to get would be the 980ti otherwise the next best thing below it would be the r9 390.
If you are only doing 1080p gaming get the r9 390 and 980ti for anything above it.

Hello Espen Olsen,

I've been a Computer Builder since I was 13, and am 20 as of two months ago. I've built 15 computers inbetween the time I was 13 and 20, so if you give me a budget, I'll give you an awesome rig to work with.

Honestly your better off with a 980 ti than a 980, especially if you don't plan on upgrading for a long time.

Best Of Luck!

Honestly if your not using all the vram, its a huge waste.
VRAM is not everything. Performance is not directly correlated to the amount of VRAM.

Also back on topic if you have the budget and want to keep your computer for a while go with the 980 ti.
However I would go with the r9 390 if your going 1080p as it will be able to max out games for the next year or 2 at 1080p and at half the price of the 980ti so in 2 years you upgrade again to something that could possibly be more powerful then the 980ti for half the price.

I never said it was, It's just a waste if your not using it a good chunk of it because honestly that's really what your paying extra full, that and slightly better clock speeds. At 1080p, both of these cards are a waste.
