It's nice to hear a company willing to not shove snack food and corporate based branded advertisements on it's storefront. Erik Johnson of Valve explains why it will never put ads in steam.
"It would be a bad business decision, let alone just dumb. We don't see a case for that ever getting user value, so we wouldn't do it. I don't think that those ever work, either. To take it a step further, I don't think anybody buys Doritos as a result of that."
This is a smart move by Valve. Doritos and terrible tasting soft drinks have no place on a digital storefront where people go to buy video games.
