I always wondered how the related channel on YouTube works. I see some channels have related channels that aren't even similar while other do. And how can I know who's channel has me as a related channel?

Typically its YouTube using things such as matching channel tag words, locations, types of content, popularity and previous searches to influence these recommended channels - unfortunately I'm not sure if there is a way to find out whose channel has you as a related channel

I believe it helps people find your channel as well because your related to another channel also putting tags in every video makes them easier to find
I think the related channels thing is just a way to help bigger youtubers just simply get bigger because all I get in mine are just huge channels.
