I know this sounds bad but i bet half of the people that said that dont actually watch small youtubers. most people jump on the bandwagon lets face it our society is based on numbers!

i would say more subs because the more subs u have the more likely people are gonna watch ur vids and therefore u get more views too

for most people yes but i try to subscribe to smaller channels with hd vids
