The community really came together to research this pet, coordinating their efforts to craft and use all sorts of obscure potions in various combinations! Many of the consumables are crafted by Alchemists (full list of how to get them in this comment). To save some gold on the consumables, consider leveling Alchemy to ~400, picking the old-world herbs on an Herbalist and then farming the Burning Crusade recipes for the potions--do note these recipes are rare drops though.
