The Support Portal has recently been updated with information regarding the YouTube Partner Program, here's a quick rundown, as well as some links to learn more about the YouTube Partner Program and how it may affect your partnership with Freedom!.

*Update* April 4, 2016

The deadline has officially been pushed back to May 16, 2016!

*Update* March 24, 2016

The YPP acceptance deadline has been set back by YouTube by a few weeks, no definitive date has been released yet.

Why am I required to join the YouTube Partner Program before April 1st?

On the 3rd of December, 2015, YouTube began rolling out invitations for its new YouTube Partner Program to all MCN-affiliated channels. By signing to its terms, the YouTube Partner Program will grant you upcoming perks such as revenue sharing on eligible third-party content in your videos (ie. cover songs), etc..

Nothing will change on an operational level, by accepting the terms you will still be partnered with Freedom!, have access to the same tools, sponsorships, perks, and benefits as a Freedom! partner, and Freedom! will continue to pay you according to the network's schedule.

However, channels that don't accept to the terms of the YouTube Partner Program will lose their ability to monetize their content.

What are the alternative partnerships if I am unable to join the YouTube Partner Program?

All MCN-affiliated channels are required to accept the terms of the YouTube Partner Program before the first of April. By not accepting to these terms, your channel will lose its monetization feature.

Unfortunately the YouTube Partner Program is not available in all countries. If you live in a non-monetizable market but still wish to generate revenue from your videos, Freedom! has a MCN on DailyMotion as well.

Thanks for info.

Quick question, what happens if you move from YPP county to a non YPP country and you have already accepted YPP.
