Looks like more companies are moving to building ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) miners. No longer will Bitmain have a monopoly on them. Samsung has partnered up with Halong mining to create new bitcoin miner. These miners are now the most power efficient giving 16TH (1,000,000,000,000 hashes per second) while only using 1480W of power.
There is still a lot of hate towards ASIC miners as they take a lot of profitability out of GPU mining. What are your thoughts on these? Are they ok for specific crypto currencies like Bitcoin or should they be removed altogether?
