YouTube Having "Gaming" in your name

Thanks for all the opinions and advice everyone! I decided to remove "Gaming" from my name. I added gaming and a few other words to my channel tags and keywords.

It may be possible that you get less people realizing that you are a gaming channel, but I've always felt like channels that have gaming or the game title in their name a bit cheap. Especially names like "Clash With Ash Clash Royale & Clash of Clans". Takes away the identity of the channel itself...

Hello all!

As you can probably tell I have the word "Gaming" at the end of my username, about a year ago I saw a post here saying it was a good idea because if you comment on someone else's video and someone sees the "Gaming" it suggests that I upload my own videos instead of just being a normal user. Now I'm kind of getting the idea that having "Gaming" or "Games" at the end of my username is not needed. What are your opionions on this?

It really depends on what you want out of your channel. Who you want as your demographic. If you want to solely appeal to gamers/people that watch gameplay videos then putting "Gaming" or "Games" etc. can be useful. Personally I won't put it in mine because while my channel is primarily gaming videos, I don't want to limit myself to only games. I also do short films, sketch comedy and anything else that comes to mind.

My advice is don't put yourself into one box, branch out and reach as many different kinds of people as you can.
