If you are talking in terms of youtube, one of the best things that I did was get involved with similar channels to your own. At first I just thought they were the competition, but really they are just trying to do the same thing as you. Even if its just follow them on twitter or watch their videos and give suggestions or encouragement. It's always a good idea to get involved with the community of similar interest

Thanks Koala I'm planning on collaborating but its a bit challenging being in South Africa and a full time job
