    I started using the free version of Lightworks recently. I used it to edit one of my vlogs. For a free software, it's simply amazing. Lots of useful (atleast to me) features. They provide official tutorials as well.

    I use Hitfilm 4 Express, its a great editor if your getting started with yt and editing as a whole.

    How about AVS video editor? Its a step up from Movie Maker imo.

    I recommend Power Director 12 (I don't know if it is available free generally, but it came as a free goodie with my PC). Before this I used Premier Pro CS2. This is a very good piece of software with many features available in CC just with an older look.

    Don't forget Hitfilm Express. I think iMovie is Free now too both for computer AND iPad

    And GoPro Studio too.

    I've only played with Hitfilm a bit, I mainly use Final Cut Pro X but if I migrate to Windows I'll likely switch to Hitfilm Pro

    If you are trying to quote or hint at an Illegal download/source, I would be careful as you can get Permanently banned.

    There's a really good NLE on linux called Kdenlive. I believe it's coming to windows sometime soon as well.
