I do highly agree with you. If your subs don't watch your videos nor do people that arnt subs, it really does just boil down to your content.

In exploring the youtube world, I realized alot of gamers has a decent amount of subscribers and it made me wonder why? Why do you guys think?

I think it's just then personal preference. Take myself for example, im subscribed to JustinScared and adamthewoo vlog channels. I used to watch their vlogs all the way through (unedited). It seems now too slow for me. I'm still subscribed to them but I'll only watch a video that looks or sounds...

Majority of my views are from non subs also Agree! well said Yes, watch time is also important. It really does tell you if people are watching your videos all the way through and if thats the case, your pretty much doing a good job with your content.

I would disagree with a Gopro for vlogging. The shot will be too wide, it will be hard to keep you as the focused subject. The other reason; by other peoples experiences and reviews, the Gopro mic isn't that great. There are alot of cameras out there to choose from. I'd just suggest staying away...
